About
My current project explores the history of indigo in India between 16th and 19th centuries. Indigo as a commodity forms an important subject of study because like textiles, it was a well-developed industry in the early modern period and whose products circulated in the markets of India and Europe.  My project looks into the aspects of production and trade with particular emphasis on production relations and techniques and technology of indigo production.
